The project proposes a holistic approach to address barriers by providing enabling environment in schools. This will ensure access of young girls to quality education. The project will increase resources to improve water and sanitation infrastructure of schools including access to clean drinking water, safe toilets and hand washing facilities to ensure girls attend, stay in school, and learn. The gender and age-appropriate toilet facilities will not only improve girls’ safety and health but will result in inculcating self-confidence and aspirations to learn. Moreover, by providing enabling environment in schools to girls, their parents will be satisfied to send them to schools which will directly contribute to increasing enrolment of young girls. Also, with access to water and sanitation facilities, attendance of female teachers will increase and they will be more focused. Capacities of school teachers will also be developed in Three Star Approach for WASH in schools to advance the effectiveness of hygiene behavior change programs. At the district level education round tables will be organized to help bring all stakeholders on one platform to jointly discuss, analyse and resolve girls education issues.
